The Corpse flower has the world’s largest flowering structure and can grow over nine feet tall. It takes at least seven years to first bloom, and each bloom lasts only about 48 hours. The flower gives off a putrid odor of rotting flesh and heats up to 98 degrees to spread the smell, drawing the flies and carrion beetles that pollinate it. When not in flower, it produces a single leaf up to 15 feet tall and equally wide, resembling a small tree.
