Our Team
The Horticulture Program connects people with nature. By enhancing and maintaining the botanical environment at Amazon and the community, we promote well-being and inspiration through education, conservation, and stewardship.
High-Level Plant Care and Landscape Management
Our team of skilled horticulture professionals delivers expert plant and aquarium care across The Spheres, Understory, and other high-visibility areas in Seattle and Arlington, Virginia. We also manage all third-party vendor-maintained interior and exterior green spaces at these sites, ensuring a consistent, world-class botanical experience.
Community
We give back by serving as stewards of Seattle’s Urban Arboretum and Arlington’s Met Park. From our corporate building terrace garden in Arlington, we grow and donate fresh produce to our nonprofit partner Kitchen of Purpose, where it fuels job training programs and helps feed the local community.
Education and Outreach
We create hands-on learning opportunities for Amazonians, from plant propagation seminars and interactive workshops to virtual lectures featuring renowned nature experts from around the world. Through The Spheres and Understory, we share the beauty and stories of our tropical plant collection with visitors.
Conservation
We protect rare and threatened plant species through active propagation. We donate germplasm, including plant tissue and seeds, to botanical partners across the United States. We continuously learn, share, and exchange horticultural knowledge with organizations and individuals worldwide.
