Learn and be curious
Amazon’s Horticulture team maintains a vibrant, healthy,
and sustainable landscape around Amazon’s Puget Sound communities.
The Urban Arboretum, maintained by Amazon Horticulture, provides a nature-focused, positive influence on Amazonians and others in the community. When planning for the landscape around The Spheres and neighboring blocks, our team saw a unique opportunity for creating an outdoor botanical landscape that reflects the uniqueness and diversity of the plants inside The Spheres.
Understory is an immersive space designed to introduce visitors
to the concept of biophilia – humanity’s innate connection to nature, while showcasing the unique environment of The Spheres.

See the neighborhood Amazon calls home! Several years ago, we made a conscious choice to invest in South Lake Union, Seattle even though it would’ve been less expensive and easier for us to move our headquarters to the suburbs. We chose to commit to Seattle’s downtown because we believed it was the right choice for our employees and for the city.
The South Lake Union and Regrade neighborhoods in Seattle are bustling 18-hour-a-day districts filled with locally-owned shops, restaurants, cafes, and more. You’ll love perusing the streets of South Lake Union and the Regrade, meeting one of our “banistas”, or scheduling play time at one of the many dog parks.
AWS Skills Center offers free, in-person and virtual classes and experiences designed for anyone in the Seattle community and beyond who is curious about cloud computing and future career possibilities in the cloud—no technology background necessary. It also features a Cloud Discovery Space with interactive exhibits showcasing robotics, space, machine learning, gaming, and smart home technology to help inspire additional learning.
